
Driver attempts rape in Gharota
Jammu, Dec 23: A driver allegedly attempted to outrage the modesty of a teenage girl in Gharota area, in outskirts of the city.
While the heating debate over the fixing of punishment to rapists is on and massive demonstrations in Delhi and Jammu are taking place against the gang rape of the 23-year-old student in Delhi, a driver namely Gain Chand (28) last night allegedly attempted to rape a local girl in Gharota area of Jammu.
Police quoting the complaint said the accused allegedly grabbed the teenage girl and took her forcibly to the forests in Gharota area and tried to outrage the modesty of the girl.
The police added that Gain Chand fled the place after attempting to rape the girl.
“A case has been registered at the concerned police station against the accused and a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding man,” police said.
