
Srinagar-Jammu National Highway closed due to heavy snowfall
SRINAGAR: Heavy snowfall around Jawahar Tunnel on Saturday forced the closure of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the only road link between Kashmir and rest of the country.
Around two feet of snow has accumulated around Jawahar Tunnel in Qazigund area, resulting in closure of the national highway, Aamir Ali, coordinator Natural Disaster Management Cell, said.
He said fresh snowfall was also recorded in several other places of the Valley including Shopian, Kargil, Gurez, Tangdhar, Macchil and Keran.
