Srinagar, Feb 11: As the Valley continues to remain under curfew for the past three days, residents of various districts are facing acute shortage of food and other essential supplies due to strict clampdown.

“Not a single shop in the entire locality was allowed to open so that people could buy vegetables or milk,” he said.

Another resident from downtown area said they had been eating sundried vegetables for the past three days.
“Now sundried vegetables are running out of stock,” said Rafeeqa Begum of Rainawari.
“There is also shortage of baby food items as many families have run short of it,” locals said.
A resident from north Kashmir’s Sopore district said he was running out of medicine for his ailing father.
“I am not allowed to move out of my home to buy medicines for my father,” he said. “Curfew was unexpected. Otherwise I would have stored enough medicines for my diabetic father.”

In Bandipora even ambulances and hospital staff was not allowed to move forward.
“An official had to call individually to CRPF officers and plead them to allow the hospital staff to move,” locals said.
