Geelani calls for strike till Friday
Srinagar, Feb 11: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has called for shutdown till Friday to protest against the hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru.
“Strike would continue till Friday,” a spokesman of Tehreek-e- Hurriyat G M Ganai, quoted Geelani as having said.
The spokesman called for Eidgah Chalo on Friday to offer mass funeral prayers in absentia for Afzal Guru and to demand return of mortal remains of Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Bhat.
