Youth killed in Baramulla
Baramulla: A youth was killed when forces opened fire at demonstrators here in north Kashmir on Tuesday. Witnesses said that forces opened fire near old town Baramulla this afternoon killing a youth Tahir Ahmed Sofi on the spot..

Day 2: Life paralyzed in Valley
Srinagar: Life in the Kashmir Valley was paralyzed for second consecutive day on Tuesday in wake of the Pulwama chalo call given by Majlis-e-Mashawarat, an amalgam of various separatist organizations. 

Shops, banks, petrol pumps and other business establishments remained closed while most public transport remained off roads.
Stone pelting incidents took place in some parts of Srinagar, Shopian and Tangmarg areas.

Grenade Blast in Lalbazar
Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that unknown persons hurled a grenade on a residential house at Budshah Mohalla Lal Bazar on city outskirts here. However, no one was injured in the explosion.

Mobile internet service suspended
Srinagar: Authorities have suspended mobile internet services across the Valley on Tuesday. Internet dongles of various companies stopped functioning from this afternoon. “We were asked by the authorities to suspend the services,” said a top official of a private company providing internet services in the Valley.

Pulwama under siege
Srinagar: Authorities imposed strict restrictions in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town on Tuesday to foil “Parigam Challo” the call for which was given by Mutahida Majlis-e-Mashawrat.  MMM, had appealed people to gather in Parigam village to express solidarity with the family of Mudassir Ahmed Malla, who was found dead hanging in his hostel room in Hyderabad on March 2.  Police had also sealed the routes leading to Parigam village and concertina wire was placed at a number of places to stop people from moving towards the village.
