Strike On Thursday, MMM Issues Fresh Calender
Mutahida-Majlis-e-Mashawart, (MMM), a joint platform of various separatist groups, spearheading the ongoing protest programme in Kashmir, has called for a Valley wide general strike on Thursday.
MMM has issued a fresh protest calendar today in support of the demand for return of mortal remains of Afzal Guru and Mohammad Maqbool Butt.
“On Monday, people should stage protests after evening prayers. People have been asked to raise anti-India and pro-Islamic slogans during the protests and condemn the random arrests of youth and Hurriyat leaders. People should write on currency notes “shame India” slogans and slogans also for the return of mortal remains of Guru and Butt,” the calendar said.
According to it, on Wednesday, students of universities and colleges should stage protests from 1.00 PM to 2.00 PM. People should hold protests soon after congregational prayers on Friday. On Saturday, people should register their protest on social networking sites and demand remains of Guru and Butt back.
On Sunday, people should continue with normal business and keep all shops and other establishments open, the MMM calendar added.
