Kashmir Named Among World Top Destinations

A leading luxury travel magazine published by London-based Condé Nast Publications Ltd has included Kashmir among the top 10 destinations to watch in 2013.

The magazine’s January 2013 online edition listed Kashmir among the top 10 destinations for 2013, along with Brazil, Amsterdam, The Congo, the Galapagos Islands, Philippine, the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, New Zealand, Panama and Oman.
This is the third time that world famed publications have given coverage to Kashmir as a tourist destination.
Recently, the United Kingdom’s leading tabloid Daily Mail had featured picturesque Dal lake and houseboat in its “pick of the spectacular travel highlights in 2013” for its readers and recommending people to visit Kashmir.
The tabloid has chosen different tourist destination across the world for the tourists intending to travel in 2013 and for the first time in the last 20-years name of Kashmir has been mentioned as “a tourist destination worth visiting.”
“New holiday destinations in 2013 include the Indian state of Kashmir, with its snow-capped peaks, flower-strewn valleys and pine forests. Kashmir has been off-limits for decades because of violence but it is now safe to visit the summer capital, Srinagar. You can also stay on a houseboat on Dal Lake, with its stunning mountain backdrop,” Daily Mail report in its report had mentioned.
Also, New York Times on March 6 carried a news report featuring Valley’s famed Gulmarg ski-resort.
The news story in the daily had lavishes praises on the Valley’s bewitching beautiful locales, panoramic view of Dal, Gulmarg, Shikara ride to the Hazratbal Shrine, stay in a cedar houseboats, etc.
The story recommends people to visit Kashmir and enjoy skiing at Gulmarg.
