No hope from Modi: Geelani

‘Muslim killings hallmark of BJP, Cong’

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Friday stated that conglomerate does not have any expectations on resolution of Kashmir issue from change of guard in New Delhi saying Bhartiya Janata Party and Congress are two faces of the same coin.
“Changing the hands over the tools of oppression doesn’t matter for us because our struggle is not for power or government, but for complete freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from forced control,” Geelani said in a statement.
Commenting over BJP clean sweep, Geelani said, “both BJP and Congress are communal rather two faces of the same coin.”
“In Indian history, about 36000 anti-Muslim riots have occurred in Congress rule in last 67 years,” he said.
“The shameful act of Babri Masjid demolition was performed by BJP and Shiv Sena under the patronage of Congress government. Sikhs and Christians were massacred in Congress rule and its ministers adopted Chanakaya and Macaulay politics to capture Jammu and Kashmir by force,” he said.
Elaborating, Geelani said the wealth, capital or money which should have been used to eliminate the poverty of India and Pakistan, are utilized “in the race to acquire weapons and arms, because India has a passion for war.”
Geelani said BJP, Shiv Sena and Bajrangdal “with communal and Hindutva ideologies” have never accepted the existence of non-Hindus especially Muslims in India.”
“In 1947 BJP, Shiv Sena and Bajrangdal played a lead role in the bloodshed of Muslims in India and Jammu and Kashmir. About 3000 innocent Muslims were killed and burnt alive in Gujarat which was also performed by BJP,” he said.
“When both these parties equally responsible for the massacres and bloodshed of innocent and unarmed people and having same viewpoint over the disputed nature of Kashmir, how does it matter for us that who holds the power,” he said.
