
Dalai Lama in Leh for Kalachakra-2014
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today welcomed Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and his devotees from all over the world, who have assembled in Leh to attend the concluding function of Kalachakra.
Addressing a large gathering of devotees at the function, the Chief Minister highlighted the pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir and described it as an essential ingredient of ‘Kashmiriyat’.
Omar said the event being observed in Jammu and Kashmir for the third time. He said Jammu and Kashmir is the abode of different faiths and cultures and people living in amity and brotherhood is the speciality of the state.
He underlined the need for strengthening the bond among various sections of the society.
