It’s a crackdown on common people: Hurriyat (G)

It’s a crackdown on common people- Hurriyat (G)Hurriyat Conference (G) Tuesday alleged that police have launched worst kind of crackdown on common people in South Kashmir.
“People in whole south Kashmir are living under fear due to the ongoing police crackdown on youth. They are forced to migrate to other areas. In these holy days when everybody is preparing for Eid-ul-Fitr, the police have launched worst kind of crackdown on the common people in the South Kashmir. They have arrested over 50 youth in Islamabad and Kulgam following the killing of a student by armed forces. As result of this police crackdown, hundreds of youth have gone into hiding and now the police are arresting fathers in place of their sons and brothers in place of their brothers,” the spokesman of Hurriyat said in a statement today.
The spokesman has expressed serious concern over the critical condition of an injured youth from Islamabad (Anantnag) Ehsan-ul-Haq Wani who is undergoing treatment at SMHS here.
Rejecting the announcement of magisterial enquiry into the Kaimoh killing, the spokesman said, “Such announcements have become jokes now as they are made only to silence the people for the time being.”
