Kashmir protests against Gaza killings

People in large numbers on Friday came on streets at different places and held protests against the ongoing Israeli air strikes on civilian population in Palestine.
Students, separatist leaders and common people staged anti-Israel protests at different places urging upon Islamic bodies to play their role in putting an end to the Israeli aggression.
Soon after offering prayers at historic Jamia Masjid here, people staged demonstrations against Israel aggression. Shouting anti-Israel and pro-freedom slogans, the protesters took out procession towards Saraf Kadal.
Meanwhile, clashes between protesters and government forces took place at different places in summer capital here.
Shouting anti-Israel, anti-India, anti-America and pro-freedom slogans, angry protesters took out a procession at Nawhatta in old city and marched through different lanes and by-lanes. Police and CRPF men swung into action and fired tear-smoke shells to disperse them when the protestors resorted to heavy stone-pelting near Saraf Kadal. However, the protesters offered stiff resistance and continued attacking the cops with stones.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) activists and supporters led by vice-chairman Bashir Ahmad Bhat took out a rally from party’s headquarters in Maisuma. The protesters were chanting pro-Palestine and pro-freedom slogans.
The protesters tried to march towards Lal Chowk but a huge contingent of police near Akhara Building stopped them. The protestors showed resistance and tried to move ahead but police detained several protesters including JKLF activists.
Kashmir University students came out in open to protest against the Israel atrocities. Students while chanting pro-Palestine, pro-Hamas and anti-Israel slogans, marched in the campus. “Down with Zionism”, “Long live Hamas”, Stop the genocide in Gaza”, “Kashmir stands with Gaza” were some of the banners and posters in the rally. The rally ended with Gaibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza for the martyrs of Gaza.
Several local journalists staged silent sit-in protest at Press Enclave here against the killing of Muslims in Gaza. They urged world community to raise their voice against the massacre of Palestinians by Israel.
People in Doda district, under the banner of Anjuman-i-Islamia, took out a protest rally from Masjid Sharief Nagri and marched through the township, shouting anti-Israel slogans. 
The protestors demanded immediate intervention of UN.
