‘Hijacked’ car recovered in Shopian

A car that was reportedly hijacked by unidentified people at Ramban last night—and which triggered a state-wide alert—was recovered this evening in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said.
“We have recovered the car and identified two accused who are well-known car thieves. They will be arrested soon,” Superintendent of Police Shopian Javed Iqbal told Greater Kashmir over phone. The Srinagar-bound Swift car (PB-35P-4434) was reportedly hijacked by some unidentified people near Karol Bridge in Ramban.
