NHPC acts as East India Company in Uri: Raja Ajaz Ali
PDP candidate for Uri constituency, Raja Ajaz Ali on Thursday accused National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) of acting as East India Company in Uri.
“NHPC is acting as East India Company in Uri. No jobs, compensation, hospital and other necessary facilities have been provided by NHPC to locals as was required by the law,” he said while addressing a rally here.
Without naming Taj Mohiudin, he alleged that the present MLA brought 26000 unemployed youth from outside and sanctioned jobs to them in Uri projects. “No one from this poor constituency was provided any job,” he said.
“You people have expressed your confidence on PDP in recently held parliamentary elections. The graph of votes polled in favour of Congress and NC is negligible,” he said. On the occasion, Congress block president in Uri Muhammad Aleem, NC youth leader Shahzada Ishfaq Lone, Haji Muhammad Hussain and Ahtisham Kura joined PDP with hundreds of activists.
