Gangabal Yatra kicks off
Weeks after the government called off Kousarnag yatra, another Hindu pilgrimage –Gangabal Yatra- kicked off Monday for the “sixth consecutive year” with a batch of 120 Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) leaving for Naranag.
Devotees from all over the country are participating in the pilgrimage – organised by All Party Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) – to offer prayers at the ancient Gangabal temple of Lord Shiva.
Vinod Pandit, Chairman of the APMCC said the yatra was organised to save the cultural and religious history of KPs. “This year the number of yatris has increased,” he said.
