BJP for turning Srinagar into model city
Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Thursday said if party comes into power in Jammu and Kashmir it would turn Srinagar into a model city.
Senior BJP leader Moti Kaul and party spokesman Khalid Jehangir, who visited flood ravaged areas of Rajbagh, Jawhar Nagar, Habba Kadal, Batamaloo and Lal Chowk today interacted with shopkeepers and traders and assured them that they would take up the matter of their rehabilitation with the Centre.
Kaul expressed surprise over the NC-Congress regime “ignoring” Srinagar and not doing “virtually anything” to develop the city. “If BJP comes into power it would ensure Srinagar is turned into a model city and the people who have suffered huge losses due to floods are given enough support to restart their normal lives,” Kaul told the people.
“Times have changed and Prime Minister during the past six months has changed the very idea of governance across India. BJP doesn’t believe in rhetoric. It believes in delivering. We hope people will give us a chance to change their destinies,” Jehangir said.
