Cong ministers invisible in flood hit Kashmir: BJP
‘Where is Shyam Lal Sharma?’
The BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir in a statement here said: “Since the day floods hit the Valley the Irrigation and Flood Control Minister, Shyam Lal Sharma has not visited any of the submerged areas.”
He (Sharma) even didn’t accompany the Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi and her son during their recent visit to Kashmir. “Sharma has disappeared from the scene,” Jehangir added.
Taking a dig at the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jehangir said, “He has not been able to put his flock together nor to ensure that Congress ministers turn up and help the flood victims. He thinks by giving interviews and remaining in news he is doing a great job.”
Jehangir alleged due to the “lackadaisical attitude” of the Congress ministers people from Kashmir are being forced to migrate from the Valley. “Government has failed to drain the water out of the submerged houses due to which people have been left with no other option other than to move out,” he added.
Jehangir said that Congress is holding all important portfolios despite that its ministers seem least bothered about the post flood situation. “No effort is being made to ensure that flood hit people get some interim relief till a final package for them is settled and worked out,” he said.
