After NC leader Nasir Aslam Wani’s son, PDP MLA Javed Mir poses with AK-47 in J&K

Just a few days after NC leader Nasir Aslam Wani’s son stirred controversy by posing with a gun in the Valley, PDP MLA Javed Mir has been spotted brandishing AK-47 overtly.

An image has surfaced online which shows People’s Democratic Party’s MLA Javed Mir holding AK-47 and casually standing next to an armed personnel.

However, the nonchalant PDP leader instead of regretting, has defended himself by saying that every child in Kashmir has grown seeing the guns.

“Children in Kashmir have grown watching this, so what’s wrong in it?” an English TV channel quoted him as saying.

Earlier, NC leader Surinder Singh, while defending Wani’s son for posing with an AK-47, had said that the pictures were blown out of proportion as he was just posing with a gun and not with any intetion to harm anyone.

Jammu and Kashmir will undergo a five-phase polling between November 25 and December 20 while the counting will take place on December 23.

Meanwhile, the Centre has decided to deploy over a large number of central paramilitary forces’ personnel for ensuring free and fair elections in the state.

According to an order issued by the Union Home Ministry, a total of 381 companies of various central forces like Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), BSF, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and state police reserve units have been asked to move to Jammu and Kashmir for poll-related duties.
