Petrol, diesel prices cut
The prices of petrol and diesel per litre were slashed to day by Rs 2.41 and Rs 2.25, respectively. The reduced rates will be effective from midnight.
Falling prices of crude oil have driven down the cost of products, prompting oil marketing companies (OMCs) to contemplate reducing the prices.
This was be the sixth consecutive price cut for petrol since August. Diesel prices will be cut for the first time since these were decontrolled on October 18, leading to a drop of Rs 3.27 a litre.
According to experts the reduction in diesel prices will further ease the inflation giving some respite to the ordinary consumers in the country, who have been complaining about price rise for last sometime.
