Jammu people ferried in trains for Modi’s Kashmir rally: Omar
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday said that people of Jammu division were being ferried in trains to Kashmir to show participation in the rally of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.
Omar, who heads the National Conference, wrote on Twitter: “2 trainloads of supporters are being brought in from Banihal in Jammu. Why not just have the rally there?”
Amid unprecedented security Modi is holding an election rally in Kashmir capital Srinagar which has been turned into a garrison.
In another Tweet, the chief minister said: “So @sajadlone is sending about 80 vehicles of supporters from Kupwara to help his “big brother” make up the numbers.”
Resistance leader turned pro-India politician Lone had met Modi in Delhi recently and had hailed the Indian prime minister.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had also said that the right wing BJP was inflating figures and the stadium that is the venue for the rally can’t host 1 lakh people.
In another Tweet, the 45-year-old chief minister wrote: “Amazingly even Cong supported “leaders” have been asked to contribute people to the BJP rally. Politics makes for strange bedfellows.”
