Four attempt suicide in Kashmir’s Pulwom, three die

On the first day on new year, four persons tried to end their lives in separate incidents in South Kashmir’s Pulwom district. Three persons, according to hospital sources, breathed their last while a girl is battling for life.

Sources in district hospital say four persons including two girls both 10th class students were admitted to the hospital and three of them had consumed some poisonous substances.

Sources said that a sixteen-year-old student hanged herself to death at her house in Malwari Newa on Thursday. Sources said that the deceased resorted to the extreme step after having a quarrel with his family members.

In Bonar, Abdul Rashid Najar, 58, a farmer reportedly died after consuming poison outside his house.

In Ratnipora, a 32-year-old man Fayaz Ahmed Andrabi died in hospital after consuming some poisonous substance.

A 16-year-old girl of Naro village in a bid to end her life also consumed poison. She was immediately taken to the district hospital where according to doctors she is battling for life.

Police have registered cases and have started investigations.
