After coming into coalition with the PDP, the BJP is considering the Jammu division as its conquered area and they have started to harass the Muslims of this division in every possible way.
Expressing deep concern and anguish over the “forcible occupation” of land belonging to the Muslim community in Udhampur district of Jammu division with a design to construct a temple thereon, the Hurriyat Conference (G) today warned the government of serious consequences if it failed to fulfill its responsibility in protecting the life and property of Muslims.
“After coming into coalition with the PDP, the BJP is considering the Jammu division as its conquered area and they have started to harass the Muslims of this division in every possible way. The forcible occupation of land belonging to the Muslims of the Rambal area of the Udhampur district is not the first incident of its kind but since the BJP has come to the power in the state, they have started a movement against the Muslims of this region. A dangerous plan is in the offing to dislocate the Muslim community of the Jammu division. Somewhere the Muslim land is declared as forest property and elsewhere they are being vacated on other excuses,” the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said in a statement.
“This new situation has terrorized the Muslim population of the Jammu division and they consider themselves unsafe. An anti-Muslim atmosphere is being prepared in administration, police and other departments and if any Muslim officer is located in any of these departments, immediately a plan is made for his transfer. All the vital posts are being occupied by the persons with RSS ideology and mindset,” he added.
“The goons of the different parties affiliated with the RSS are abusing and harassing the Muslims there and according to the reports the Muslims of the Pirpanjal range have complained of the wicked designs of these hooligans. A respectable family of the Rajouri district, who has requested not to be named, has informed the Hurriyat (G) office that due to the fear of RSS goons, their daughters have left their schools because they face threat to their honour and dignity when they are on the way to their schools,” the spokesman said.
