Telecom companies leave Bandipora roads damaged

The roads here in Bandipora maintained by Border Roads Organization (BRO) have been severely damaged by the telecom companies leading to traffic jams and increasing the risk of mishaps.
Local residents alleged that BRO has failed to take action against the telecom companies which have dug roads to lay the cables and have left them unrepaired. The residents have to pour on to the streets to protest the delay over construction of roads.
Private telecom companies leave Bandipora roads damagedThe BRO last week started to repair the Srinagar-Bandipora-Gurez road after facing flak from residents and leaders here. However the newly repaired road has been dug by the communication companies and the local residents have alleged that, “ BRO is giving a free rein to the private companies.”
Local residents of the areas of Pazalpora, Nadihal and Ajas said that the BRO tarred the Gurez-Bandipora-Srinagar road, but it has been again defaced by the cellular firms. “ In various localities the digging of roads to lay cables by telecom companies has become frequent,” said a resident.
