PDP campaigning for BJP in Leh: Omar
National Conference working president Omar Abdullah on Wednesday claimed PDP ministers and leaders were campaigning for the BJP candidates in the remote Leh district for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council election.
The former Chief Minister said the campaigning was “yet another eye-opener” revealing the “total and complete political assimilation of the PDP into the BJP”.
Omar addressed several public meetings in Leh today ahead of the LAHDC polls in the district on October 17. He was accompanied by NC general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi.
“Today the PDP is campaigning more for the BJP than its own candidates here. Almost all PDP ministers are here and their only appeal to the people is to vote for anyone but the National Conference,” he said. Omar said the PDP leaders were “overtly campaigning for the BJP candidates despite the political suppression of the state by the BJP”.
