BSNL goes offline in many parts of Kashmir Valley

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is again in news for wrong reasons. The cellular services by the company in South Kashmir are down from Sunday while its broadband customers across the Valley are decrying poor connectivity.
BSNL goes offline in South KashmirThe subscribers said the mobile phone services by the company went off on Sunday evening and were yet to be restored. “Poor connectivity has become synonyms with BSNL,” Showkat Ahmad, a subscriber said.
He said that while the poor mobile service is adding to the woes of the people, the disruptive broadband is a cause of worry.
“Sending or receiving email via BSNL broadband is a Herculean task,” subscribers from Shopain, Bandipora as well other areas said adding that neither the company has improved its services nor its officials are bothered about it.
Meanwhile, the subscribers threatened to switch over to other networks if the company fails to improve its services.
However, BSNL officials blamed some technical snag for the poor connectivity. “The broadband link at Rambagh has been damaged due to road digging by the officials which has led to disruption of broadband services,” they said.
