Body found in Ajas’s post militant attack identified as LeT militant of Pulwama

An unidentified body which was found after suspected militants attacked an army party on Srinagar-Bandipora road Thursday evening has been identified as a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, police said on Friday.

Police have identified the body as Umais Ahmad Sheikh alias Molvi alias Hamza S/O Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Chatepora Pulwama. However they said that the identification will be verified after calling his parents.

Meanwhile army claimed that they killed LeT militant on Thursday in Ajas when suspected militants lobbed Grenade on the army party.

Umais who appeared to be barely in his teens, got killed while looking for an escape route after lobbing grenade, an army officer told .

The attack, came a months  after a special tech savvy police officer of SIT  was killed in a militant attack 15 Kilometers from from Ajas.

A top Army officer told that the militants are turning to Bandipora from last few months probably to recruit youth. He said that army and police have jointly geared up the vigil to counter the militants.
