Need to review how much of Mufti’s vision was fulfilled in 9 months: PDP

Need to review how much of Mufti’s vision was fulfilled in 9 months - PDPAs impasse continues over government formation, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday said the party will review how much “it has achieved vis-à-vis fulfilling development vision” of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during nine months alliance with BJP.
“Mufti sahab had a vision for making J&K a modern state. Due to his death, his vision is yet to be realised. The party under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti will need to review how much we have succeeded to fulfill Mufti Sahab’s vision so far,” senior PDP leader and former education minister, Naeem Akhtar told Radio Kashmir’s programme.
He said the party has not held any meeting so far to discuss new government formation. “No formal meeting has been held yet under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti”.
Akhtar said being a political issue, Mufti Sahab had envisioned to make J&K paradise of peace. “PDP will assess whether Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who has a massive mandate of the country, has taken any decisions on it,” he said.
He said keeping in view the changing situation, the party will analyse whether their ministers can fulfill their governance agenda smoothly.
“Our governance agenda were making smart cities, bring back power projects, and other development projects. We will analyse whether we can work smoothly on the governance agenda.”
Asked whether the party has taken any decision to enter into a new alliance with BJP, he said the party had not formed the government with BJP for power.
“We always wanted to represent people of J&K to fulfill their rights and expectations,” he added. (KNS)
