More than 50 people were injured so far in Sopore after clashes between government forces and protesters intensified in the apple town. Local sources Kashmir Post that they see rush of ambulances to hospital from last 3 hours. “It’s all sirens of ambulances and people on streets,” they said however, officials are mum about the situation.

Reports of protests and clashes have reached from Soura in Srinagar and Dialgam in Anantnag district on Friday. Clashes in Soura erupted after police stopped a rally moving towards Dargah Hazratbal at main Chowk.

Meanwhile, a pro-freedom rally was taken out at Dialgam in Anantnag. Reports of protests and clashes have reached from Chadoora area of Budgam district on Friday. Sources said that many injured have been brought to sub-district hospital Chadoora. Details awaited

For the first time in the recent history of Kashmir, congregational prayers could not be held at historic Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar, on Friday due to the imposition of strict curfew and sealing of the revered shrine. The authorities had intensified the curfew and restrictions, by deploying troops and police personnel in nook and corner of the Kashmir Valley, sources said.

The action was aimed at stopping the people from staging demonstrations and conducting a march towards the Hazratbal Shrine. Call for the march was jointly given by Hurriyet leadership as part of protest programme against the killing spree in the valley.

Around 12 civilians and four forces personnel were injured in clashes in Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Friday. Witnesses said that forces lobbed teargas shells to disperse protesters who had staged a dharna against arrests. This triggered massive clashes which were going on at the time of filing of this report. Half a dozen injured are being treated at Trauma Hospital Kangan.

Over 30 people were injured in clashes between protesters and government forces in Chadoora area of Budgam district on Friday, hospital sources said. Most of the injured have suffered pellet injuries, they said. Five among the injured have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment. Meanwhile, BMO Chadoora accused the forces of vandalism and misbehaving with female staff.

Residents of New Colony, Charar-i-Sharief on Friday accused the police and paramilitary CRPF forces of thrashing residents and misbehaving with women following protests in the area.
Talking to Kashmir Post on Phone, a local said at around 3:30 pm scores of youth took out a protest in the New Colony.
However he said the protesters were chased away by police and CRPF personnel.
“The police and CRPF men then barged into the houses, in the backside of the colony and thrashed elderly persons. The forces also misbehaved with women and tried to molest a young woman,” said the locals.

At least 15 persons were injured in clashes between protesters and government forces in Ganderbal on Friday. Reports said that clashes erupted in Kangan area. Government forces fired teargas shells to disperse protesters who pelted rocks on them. Local sources said that people had held protest against arrests in area.

Around a dozen persons were injured in clashes between forces and protesters in Magam area of Budgam district on Friday. Most of the injured have suffered pellet injuries, hospital sources said.
