Drivers thrashed, made to wait for hours in Kupwara to curb Night Travel

Government forces have allegedly thrashed drivers and made them to wait for hours to enforce a ban on night travel in Kupwara district.
Couple of days, authorities had banned night travel in adjacent Baramulla district to ‘counter’ the Hurriyat relaxation programme after 6 pm.
“I was made to wait for at least two hours last night when I was travelling to Srinagar,” said a driver. “The forces personnel didn’t give any reason behind the ‘detention’. They were just asking questions which made no sense.”
