Youth dies in Pulwama death toll 71; Scores injured across Valley during clashes

A youth died in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, taking the overall death toll in past more than a month to 71.
Doctors at the District Hospital Pulwama said that Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie succumbed at the hospital.
A doctor said he was hit by a bullet near his shoulder that had pierced through his heart. “He breathed his last at the SDH Pulwama,” he said.
Ganaie, a resident of Chandgam, was injured in clashes in Haal area of the district, said a witness.

Many persons were injured after government forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse protesters at volatile Palhalan area in north Kashmir on Friday. The protests erupted in Palhalan soon after Friday prayers.
Local sources said that large number of people from many areas organised a rally however the protesters clashed with forces. Locals said that many were injured during the clashes. Reports of tear gas shelling on protesters have also reached from Pattan town.

Clashes erupt in Sangam, three sustain pellet injuries
At least three persons sustained injuries after they were hit by pellets during clashes between protesters and government forces in Sangam in Anantnag district on Friday.
Local sources told Kashmir Post that protesters raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans after congregational prayers at Dogripora locality.Government forces immediately swung into action and fired tear gas shells and pellets to disperse them.
Three person sustained injuries during clashes, and one among them was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment, they added.
