Elder Dies of ‘Shell Sound’ in Kulgam, Death Toll rises to 77
An elder died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday in Chawalgam Kulgam after forces fired a shell to disperse protesters in the area.
As per the locals, Abdul Gani Wani, 70, of Chawalgam died of cardiac arrest after forces fired shells at the protesters.
“The protests broke out in the area early today after forces foiled a pro-freedom rally,” a Chawalgam resident said. “Wani sahab died of heart attack after loud shell explosion rattled the area.”
With Wani’s demise, the civilian death toll in current civil mass uprising in valley has mounted to 77.
