Army opened fire on protesters in Nadihal, Sopore area of Baramulla district on Friday resulting in the killing of a youth. Sources said that Waseem Ahmad Lone son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, 22, was hit by a bullet and he was immediately rushed to nearby hospital however, he died on way.
With the killing of Mudassir, the death toll in forces actions during ongoing unrest has gone up to 88.

Government forces on Friday used teargas shelling to foil proposed pro-freedom rallies in Old Barzualla, Natipora and Rambagh areas in uptown Srinagar.
Reports and witnesses said that forces fired dozens of teargas shells to disperse protesters who were preparing to take out the rally after Friday congregational prayers.
Protestors from Natipora and Old Barzulla were planning to march towards Rambagh.
Joint resistance leadership has urged people to hold freedom congregation post Friday prayers at a mutually agreed place in the locality.
Clashes erupted at these places as locals alleged that forces went berserk and beat up inmates and broke window panes. Protests and clashes were going on when last reports came in.

Several people were injured after clashes between the government forces and protesters erupted in Sofshali area of Kokernag in Anantnag district on Friday. Local sources told Kashmir Post that a freedom rally was scheduled at Sofshali, area however as soon as people started assembling government forces including army, police, SOG and CRPF men used forces to disperse them.
“Forces attacked the peaceful rallies by tear smoke canisters and lathis soon after they started assembling,” a local informed Kashmir Post over phone. Sources said that protesters initially dispersed however pelted stones on forces after reassembling in many groups resulting in clashes.
They added that several people have sustained injuries in the ongoing clashes.

Clashes between the government forces and protesters erupted in north Kashmir town of Bandipora after Friday congregational prayers. Local sources told Kashmir Post that hundreds of protesters started pro-freedom and anti-India sloganeering near main chowk of the town after prayers were over.
Government forces deployed in heavy numbers immediately swung into action and fired tear smoke canisters to disperse the slogan raising protesters, they said.
However, protesters started pelting stones on forces and clashes were going on when reports last came in.
