Valley remains Shut on 109th Consecutive day; Hurriyat activists leading agitation in Baramulla arrested from South Kashmir

Normal life continued to remain affected in Kashmir on the straight 109th day on Tuesday due to separatist-sponsored strike.
While there were no curbs on the movement of people anywhere in Kashmir, an official said restrictions on assembly of four or more people were in place throughout the Valley for maintaining law and order.
He said forces have been deployed in strength at vulnerable spots and along the main roads as a precautionary measure.
Shops, business establishments and fuel stations remained shut, but are expected to open this evening as separatists have given a 14-hour relaxation in the shutdown from 5 PM.
Today is the last relaxation period for this week.
Traffic movement has significantly increased in the civil lines and around the Lal Chowk.
ongoing unrest in Kashmir, apart from business and tourism, has also affected the education as schools, colleges and other educational institutions continue to remain shut in the Valley.
Police have arrested six members of Tehreek-e- Hurriyat Baramulla who were on the run during a raid in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Monday night.
Sources said that a team of Baramulla police arrested Bashir Ahmad Saleh, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Abdul Khaliq Regu, Abdul Rehman Tantray, Farooq Ahmad Saleh and Tanveer Ahmad Saleh from an undisclosed location in BIjbehara area of the district.
They said that the arrested were leading the ongoing civil uprising in old town Baramulla and were on the run since last three months.
As many as 95 people have been killed and over ten thousand others injured in the ongoing unrest in the Valley.
Around 5000 forces personnel have also been injured in the clashes.

Govt School in Bandipora gutted in mysterious fire
A government school went up in flames in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district late last evening, sources said on Tuesday.
They said that Government Middle School located in Bunpora mohalla of Saderkoot Bala went up in flames at around 9 pm. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
According to reports, in the last four days, at least four schools have been gutted in fire.
Around 15 schools in total have been gutted throughout the Valley in mysteriously triggered fires during the last three months, which have become a major impediment in the education of students and causing severe damage to the state’s academic infrastructure.
