Govt forms panels to regulate prices of commodities in Jammu & Kashmir

According to the order, the committees will meet on the first and the 15th of every month and will send periodical reports to the administrative department.

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday constituted Price Consultative Committees (PCC) for Kashmir and Jammu divisions to regulate the prices of essential commodities. The panels have been formed on the direction of Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali.
Asserting that his department is committed to protect the consumers from overcharging, Ali said these committees have been formed to regulate prices in the market and hoped that things will change because of the effective working of these panels.
For Jammu division, the director of food civil supplies and consumer affairs is the chairman of the panel. For Kashmir too, the director of food civil supplies and consumer affairs in that division is the chairman.
According to the order, the committees will meet on the first and the 15th of every month and will send periodical reports to the administrative department.
