Kashmiri youth won’t fall in RSS trap: Mirwaiz Omer

Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday said that after getting “unnerved” to see the resilience of Kashmir’s young lot in the five-month long unrest last year, RSS is playing a “fake Muslim card” to break the resolve of youth and lure them into mainstream fold.
He said Kashmiri youth “spilled their hot blood” for a cause and won’t get attracted to the organisations playing “a fake muslim card.”

Addressing a religious gathering at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar here, Mirwaiz said that the youth, who fell to the bullets of forces during the five months of uprising last year, shook entire New Delhi.
“Our youth showed to India and entire world that they can’t be lured on economic packages and in the name of honing their skills. They are intelligent enough and are committed to the sacred movement as seen in the uprising triggered young militant commander Burhan Wani’s killing,” Mirwaiz said.
Referring to the recent conference organised in New Delhi by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch(MRM), an affiliate of RSS, Mirwaiz said “Government of India is feeling frustrated to see the resolve of youth in Kashmir. It is now resorting to playing fake Muslim cards in the name of MRM, which I believe is fully backed by the agencies,” Mirwaiz said.

The conference, held in New Delhi on Saturday, was aimed to connect Kashmiri youth with “the national mainstream, nation building and to bring them on the right path.” He said that history is witness that Kashmir people especially youth have rejected the economic offers, schemes and financial packages since 1947.
“We have also seen that Kashmir youth are being more often harassed in various states of India. Youth are taking the ongoing movement forward and won’t get attracted the fake organisations who are playing Muslim card,” he said.
Hurriyat (M) Chairman said every single Kashmiri knows the real agenda of RSS and MRM, which is fully backed by the “pro-Hindutva organization.” “It is tasked to create wedge in the Kashmiri society.”
“But our youth who faced bullets, pellets, worst torture, won’t fall in this trap. Our youth are wise enough and aware of the ploys of RSS and New Delhi. The ultimate aim is to weaken and movement and to divide the people on social and religious lines,” he said and appealed to the youth to beware of “agents of RSS, who have been assigned to approach Kashmiri youth to join MRM.”
Mirwaiz said what Kashmiris need is redressal of their political will and aspirations for which they are sacrificing and suffering not double speak of these agents and their “hollow development slogans and lessons on Kashmiriyat or Sufism.” He said such underhand ploys for shifting focus from the actual issue are also aimed at a creating wedge and division among Kashmiris along sectarian lines and the role of anti Kashmir organisations like MRM and RSS is no secret
Mirwaiz said that the resistance leadership has full faith on Kashmiri youth, who are the pioneers of ongoing movement. “People of Kashmir have defeated all designs of New Delhi since 1947 and will also do same with the fresh propaganda of MRM,” he said.
“We will resist all moves of RSS and its offshoots which are aimed at changing the Muslim majority character of the State.”
Meanwhile, delivering a sermon at a gathering at the shrine of Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar, Mirwaiz said the 11th and 12th century saint who had a religious and spiritual personality, and who with his belief and faith, deeds and mannerism, intellect and understanding, determination and fortitude, besides his religious missionary work of leading people to the true path became a beacon of shining light for other Muslims to follow.
“The saint’s contributions both in the spread of Islam as well as to the empowerment of the poor and the weak in the society remained unparalleled. On the one hand through his sermons, the saint (RA) delivered the message of the Almighty Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to the people and on the other hand helped in building a society based on both physical and spiritual well being of the people,” he said.
Mirwaiz said it was due to these contributions of Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) that people in every nook and corner of the world continued to respect him and hold him in reverence.
