Spell of Rains, Snowfall from today, predicts weatherman
While sunny weather continued for the fourth consecutive day on Monday in Kashmir, Meteorological Department has predicted light rains/snowfall at isolated places in Kashmir in the next 24 hours.
MeT officials said a fresh Western Disturbance (WD), which originated from Arabian sea, is entering the region though Afghanistan and Pakistan. “That will hit the region from Tuesday, resulting in wet weather for three subsequent days,” they said, adding: “Higher reaches may receive fresh light snowfall. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 13 degrees and 5 degrees.”
On Monday, one-way traffic continued on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu highway, traffic department officials said. They said that vehicles were allowed to ply from Srinagar to Jammu on Monday. Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers and empty trucks and oil tankers left Srinagar this morning for Jammu, they added.
