National Conference, Congress slams PDP for ‘Importing RSS’ into Kashmir

  • Fascist forces have no place in Kashmir: Mir
  • PDP is carbon copy of RSS: Sagar

National Conference and Congress Tuesday assailed PDP for importing RSS into Kashmir, saying that the politically sagacious people won’t allow the machinations of saffron social engineering to succeed in a pluralistic state like Jammu and Kashmir.
“PDP stands exposed for facilitating the RSS to spread its tentacles, first by inducting its political constituent BJP into the government and now by vitiating the atmosphere on communal and regional lines”, senior NC and Congress leaders said while stepping up joint campaign of alliance candidate Ghulam Ahmed Mir in Anantnag-Pulwama Lok Sabha constituency and referred to alarming developments of trampling the inclusiveness of the state during over past two years.
Addressing the election rally here this morning, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammed Sagar described PDP as carbon copy of the RSS, which, is trumpeting the monologue of Nagpur and furthering its interests overtly and covertly.
“After electoral victory in Uttar Pradesh and appointment of hardcore Pracharak as Chief Minister, the RSS is emboldened to the extent of spreading its tentacles subtly in the state. NC stood vindicated the day PDP offered an olive branch to the BJP while forming the government as it always believed the former to be creation of agencies at the behest of top RSS leaders,” he said.
Sagar cautioned people against the danger of RSS using proxy channels, as the BJP has put all its weight behind the PDP candidates during the ongoing parliamentary elections in order to weaken secular forces. “The BJP has been claiming privately that the vote to PDP will be recognition to RSS presence in the Valley”.
“Their monstrous growth and advance can be stopped only when the people of Kashmir get united and show their strength through ballot to negate anti-Kashmir policies,” he said.
He referred to attempts of weakening Article 370 and 35-A through various modes and asserted that NC has and will fight these sinister moves forcefully at the strength of peoples’ support.
Urging people to exercise their democratic right carefully, the Pradesh Congress President and the candidate for Anantnag parliamentary constituency Ghulam Ahmad Mir said fascist forces have no place in Kashmir that has been abode of saints and sages for centuries.
“We cannot allow communal forces to take centre-stage in a place known for its composite culture”, he said and slammed the PDP for its deceptive campaign during the 2014 parliamentary and assembly elections.
Mir said by pretending to be anti-BJP before the elections, the PDP not only hoodwinked public opinion in the Valley but also became instrumental in strengthening saffron brigade in Jammu.
He termed the rhetoric of PDP-BJP in those elections as a fixed match and warned the dubious and communal forces like PDP and BJP not to test the political maturity of the people in Kashmir, saying they are capable to read between the lines.
Former minister Sakina Itoo, Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah, legislators Abdul Majid Larmi, Altaf Ahmed Kaloo, Dr Bashir Ahmed Veeri, former Congress ministers Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed, legislators Mohammed Amin Bhat and Gulzar Ahmed besides NC leaders Dr Mohammed Shaffi, Riaz Ahmed, Farooq Ahmed Ganai, Mir Ghulam Mohiuddin, Mohammed Ashraf, Ghulam Nabi Badgami, Imran Nabi Dar and Sheikh Rafi also spoke on the occasion.
The NC leaders said the party cadre would ensure landslide victory of Mir in the upcoming elections from Anantnag seat.
