Protests in Jammu over killing, alleged mutilation of Indian soldiers

Several political parties and groups on Tuesday held protests in Jammu against the alleged mutilation of Indian soldiers by Pakistani army on Monday in Poonch area of the state.
As per reports, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party leaders and activist staged a protest against Pakistan outside the United Nations Military Observer Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) office in Jammu.
The protestors held banners and raised anti-Pakistan slogans and urged the UN authorities to declare Pakistan a ‘terror state’. “The incident is an insult to the whole nation and stern action should be taken against the Pakistan army,” a statement issued here said.
Members of JKPCC also held protest against Pakistan and burnt down its flag. The protesters urged the government of India to initiate strong action against Pakista.
They said that it was “high time that India initiates stringent action against Pakistan so that it never indulges in such acts.”
Meanwhile, the members of Jammu West Assembly Movement also staged protest in Jammu against the Pak forces’ action.
In protest , they burnt down the effigies of Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistani army chief.
The protestors also set the Pakistani flag on fire.
It should be noted that Pakistani forces allegedly killed two Indian soldiers and mutilated their bodies along the Line of Control on Monday morning in Poonch.
The Pakistani side opened fire on the Indian posts in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, and members of their Border Action Team (BAT) attacked a patrol party, the Indian Army’s Northern Command said in a statement.
On Tuesday, The Indian army lodged a strong protest with the Pakistani military over the incident, calling it a “dastardly and inhuman” act which merited “unequivocal condemnation and response”.
India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) spoke to his Pakistani counterpart and expressed “grave concern” over the beheading of two soldiers in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday.
“The DGMO of the Indian army conveyed that such a dastardly and inhuman act is beyond any norms of civility and merits unequivocal condemnation and response,” the army said in a statement.
