Goodwill schools making children indifferent towards culture: Geelani

‘Forces responsible for driver’s death in Shopian’

Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani today blamed ‘Goodwill Schools’ for “indoctrination” students in valley saying: “The institutions run by armies are making them indifferent towards their religion and specific culture”.
Geelani in his statement while taking serious note of this, urged parents to avoid these institutions.
“For petty material gains, we are losing our next generation,” said Geelani while asking parents “to be careful about the future of their kids”.
In his statement, Syed Ali Geelani said: “We should never send our youth to these institutions as we need to see what education these institutions are imparting to our children.”
“For the betterment of our youngsters, instead people need to seek admission in other institutions, run by prominent and well-known organization,” said Geelani.
Geelani said: “A nation pursuing a struggle can never make forces the custodian of their future generations. They are killing, maiming and blinding us and how obscure it is to trust them and handover our future into their custody.”
It is quite contradictory and there is no moral justification for this, said Geelani, adding: “How can they take care and provide good education to our children as they are following particular mindset.”
“Goodwill Schools are part of their long-term policy to strengthen forced rule. They are psychologically preparing our new generation to accomplish their nefarious designs. Our youngsters are resisting forced rule and giving them tough fight,” said Geelani.
“Those children pursuing education in these institutions are immature and as such unintentionally deviating from their roots. Islam and its fundamentals are dear to us and it is all against the teachings of Islam and cherished ethics we are following,” added Geelani.
Referring to RSS ideology, Geelani said that Delhi is anxious to see India as “Hindu Rashtra” as such “are following RSS viewpoint and these schools are following syllabus influenced by same fanatical elements.”
“We have best education system in our State and experts are imparting standard education to students, as such parents are requested to think about this grave matter and disassociate from these fanatical institutions,” said Geelani.
Syed Ali Geelani also expressed grief over the death of a driver during Killora Shopian crackdown. Geelani said: “Forces are responsible for his death as an unarmed driver was forcibly made to ferry army men.”

Force always in their revengeful practice target civilians and most probably he is the victim of same forces strategy, said Geelani.
Geelani also condemned the use of excessive force against civilians and ransacking of properties during the massive crackdown in Shopian.
Accusing police of manhandling civilians, Geelani said that they too are acting like other forces in Kashmir.
Geelani said that state police should desist from bullying people.
“Policemen are part of this society and should not indulge in such brutal activities, that may prove otherwise”, added Geelani.
