JRL calls for protest on Friday, shutdown on Sunday over rights violations in Kashmir and US decision on Jerusalem

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a shutdown on Sunday to protest the “gross” human rights violations in Kashmir. The leadership also called for “peaceful protests” tomorrow against the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
“Jerusalem represents the religious sentiments of about a billion Muslims living across the globe. US decision to declare this sacred land as the capital of Israel, amounts to political bankruptcy of fascist trump regime,” said the JRL, in a statement today.
“Kashmiris across the valley will stage peaceful protests against US decision, after Friday prayers tomorrow on 8th December 2017,” they said.
The leadership said that Kashmiri people are being subjected to “worst kind of torture and oppression”, but the champions of human rights are maintaining a criminal silence over it “to safeguard their economic ambitions.”
“On 10th December, the international human rights day, Kashmiris will observe a complete shutdown and blackout against gross human rights violations. A protest rally towards UN observers’ office at Srinagar will also be taken out from Lal Chowk on the same day. Similarly a seminar to highlight miseries of Kashmiris will also be held on 9th December 2017,” said the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.
