BJP leader Mehraj-ud-Din Malla was abducted by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

BJP leader Mehraj-ud-Din Malla, who is also the vice-president of Watergam Municipal Committee in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, was abducted by terrorists on Wednesday. According to reports, Malla was kidnapped and whisked away in a Santro car, while he was walking on a road to meet his friend.

According to officials, he was allegedly kidnapped at Marazigund in Rafiabad area of Baramulla while he was on his way to Sopore town.

The police have launched a search operation to find the abducted BJP leader.

Notably, a few days back, terrorists put up posters in many areas of Kashmir warning people against joining BJP.

The incident comes a week after Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader Wasim Bari, his father and brother were killed by terrorists on July 8 late in Bandipore district. The three were shot by motorcycle-borne terrorists with a silencer-fitted revolver.

Politicians cutting across party lines had condemned the incident.

While expressing condolences to the deceased’s family, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah tweeted: “I condemn the attack. My condolences to their families in this time of grief. Sadly the violent targeting of mainstream political workers continues unabated”.

Senior BJP leader Ram Madhav had condemned the killing saying, “Shocked and saddened by d killing of young BJP leader Wasim Bari and his brother by terrorists in Bandipora. Bari’s father who is also a senior leader was injured. This despite 8 security commandos. Condolences to d family.”
