Kashmir to host cricket World Cup match after 37 years

Kashmir has geared up to host a cricket World Cup match, after a gap of three decades, in Srinagar’s Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium this year.

Last match played in Srinagar was in 1986 between India and Australia. It was a 50-over match that Australia had won by 3 wickets.

The ICC World Cup 2023 is the 13th edition of the world cup and is going to be the first World cup that will be hosted entirely by India. The match will be starting from October 2023 to 26 November 2023. A total of 48 matches will be going to be played in the ICC world cup.

One of the matches will be played in Srinagar, during the final leg. In the World Cup, ten teams will be fighting over the trophy.

The final dates of the world cup are not declared by the ICC authorities. However, it is confirmed that the final of the ICC World Cup will be played on 26 November 2023 in Ahmedabad.
