Masarat calls for protests after Friday prayers

The incarcerated senior separatist leader and chairman of Muslim League (ML) Masarat Alam Bhat has appealed to the Muslims of world in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular to protest on January 23, after Friday prayers against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Terming such impudent and insulting acts against the most revered Prophet Muhammad (SAW)  as intolerable, Masarat Alam, according to League statement, also appealed to the Muslim world to rise to the occasion and take effective steps put an end to such acts.
“Publication of blasphemous caricatures has offended the religious sentiments of whole Ummah in the world,” he said.
