Pakistani dresses sell like hot cakes in ValleyLovers of Pakistani attire brands need no longer to travel across border to purchase their favourite dresses; as such exquisite collection is readily available at various shops and boutiques in Valley, which sell like hot cakes.
Brands like Sana Safinaz, Gul Ahmed, Junaid Jamsheed, Chinyere, Bareeze, Umar Syed and many more are available at various stores in Kashmir. These brands are highly attracting upper class in Kashmir and the tourists from metropolitan cities.
Ishfaq Din, the owner of “Payaam Fabrics” at Sanagarmal City Centre said, “Although some brands are expensive and everyone can’t afford them but we also have brands like Dawood Lawn, Classic and Lala suits available  with price tags starting from Rs 800-1500 which are affordable”.
He said that the lawn-suits are much in demand among locals and tourists.
Kashmir, being a Muslim dominated state, traditional wear and Peshwari handmade chappals are highly attracting men here. Such collections are available at FT studio at Sangarmal, owned by the Alkhuddam Group of Companies.
“Apart from the Pakistani collection, we have also Ajmal Perfumes available here which are highly demanded in Kashmir and casual Pakistani branded wear for women,” said an employee of FT studio Saba Khan.
Kashmiri women are eager to get dolled up like the actresses of Zindagi TV which is widely seen channel in Kashmir.
“I always wanted to dress up like the Pakistani actress and earlier I used to buy these brands from Dubai. Now I am very happy that these brands are available in Kashmir also,” said a buyer Seema.
There are various boutiques that sell these branded Pakistani dresses.
Owner of Smart Looks at Lal Chowk, Zakir said, “I have these Pakistani brands available from expensive ones to the affordable ones and it is easy for a customer to buy and stitch at a same place”.
“Whenever I come to Kashmir, I always buy the traditional wear from here or sometimes I ask my friend from Kashmir to buy them,” said a tourist from Delhi.
