Sainik colony demand was made by state subjects: CM

Sainik colony demand was made by state subjects - CMThe demand of Sainik colonies was made by the state subject service men but it was not fulfilled so far. This was stated by the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday before resuming her office in the summer capital.

On the opening day of the civil secretariat in Srinagar, Mehbooba clarified that establishment of Sainik colonies had nothing to do with the non-state subjects. “It was a demand made by the state subjects however their demand is yet to be fulfilled,” Mehbooba told reporters on the sidelines of the function held on the opening day of darbar in Srinagar. She added that the demand has not yet been fulfilled. “No land has been allotted for the Sainik Colonies,” Mehbooba said.

Terming the former chief minister, Omar Abdullah a “rumour monger” Mehbooba alleged that he had uploaded fake photographs on social media.

While answering a question about NEET controversy, Mehbooba said that such issues are raised in summer “only to destabilise the tourist season of Kashmir.”

“Such issues are raised in the beginning of summer to hit Kashmir economy,” Mehbooba said adding “everybody knows that tourist season of Kashmir starts in this season.”

Earlier, Mehbooba was accorded guard of honour in the civil secretariat lawns and the first woman chief minister of the state was received with bouquets.
