
People stayed in Jamia Masjid overnight and prevented forces from even making the curfew announcement today morning. Thousands of people, including women, children and elders, took part in the protests. Clashes were going on at the time of filing of this report.
Dozens of lawyers affiliated with Bandipora Bar Association Tuesday held protest against the civilian killings, use of pellet guns and arrests in the Kashmir valley in the north district. Led by Bandipora, Bar Association President advocate Masood Bhat, the protesting lawyers marched upto the local Chowk.
Bhat addressed the lawyers and strongly condemned the civilian killings at the hands of government forces, the use of pellet guns against protesters and arrest spree.
Scores of women on Tuesday took out a protest rally in Ajas area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The protesting women marched from main chowk to Eidgah Ajas while chanting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The protests were peaceful till last reports came in.
