Youth killed in Shopian clashes
A 24 year old youth was killed during clashes in south Kashmir district of Shopian after he was hit by a tear smoke canister on his head raising the death toll to 77 in last 64 days of uprising. Clashes between protesters and the government forces erupted in Tukroo area of Shopian district resulting in injuries to many protesters.
Sayar Ahmad Sheikh son of Shamim Ahmad Sheikh resident of Ganowpora, Shopian was hit by a tear gas shell in his head and he was immediately shifted to SDH, Rajpora where doctors declared him brought dead. “Sayar had a deep wound in his head and he was brought dead,” Medical Officer, SDH Rajpora told Kashmir Post. Police sources also confirmed the death of Sayar.
Earlier, people had organised a freedom rally at Tukroo area of south Kashmir district however, government forces including army used force to foil the rally resulting in clashes.

Intense clashes erupt in Qazigund area
Intense clashes erupted on Saturday between the government forces and protesters in Qazigund area of south Kashmir. The clashes erupted in Badragund, Nissu area.
Sources told Kashmir Post that heavy stone pelting from protesters was going on and the forces were firing shells and pellets on them
