J&K reported 1229 new covid cases and 17 deaths

Jammu and Kashmir reported 1,229 new positive cases of Covid, 837 from the Jammu division and 392 from the Kashmir province, during the past 24 hours, thus taking the total number of cases in the UT to 55,325.

Seventeen deaths, nine from the Jammu province and eight from the Kashmir division, were also reported during the same period.

Moreover, 644 more patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 231 from the Jammu division and 413 from the Kashmir valley.

According to an official bulletin issued on Monday evening, out of the 55,325 positive cases, 18,049 were active positive, 36,381 had recovered and 895 died, 160 in the Jammu division and 735 in the Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of the 12,48,495 test results available, 11,93,170 samples had tested negative.

Till date, 5,25,963 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases had been enlisted for observation, which included 42,090 persons in home quarantine, 18,049 in isolation and 55,018 under home surveillance. Besides, 4,09,911 persons had completed their surveillance period.
