Khanmoh Encounter: Authorities direct mobile companies to reduced internet speed in some parts
Srinagar, March 15 : In wake of the encounter at Balhama area of Khanmoh, authorities on Thursday decided to reduce mobile internet speed in police district Awantipora as a precautionary measure.
Official sources told , KIF, that police have sent a communication to the cellular companies wherein it has directed them to reduce mobile internet (4G/3G) into 2G speed in Pampore, Tral of police district Awantipora with immediate effect.
As per the directions, the companies have been asked not to keep speed more than 128 kbps.
Earlier, a cop Bilal Ahmad guarding the BJP leader Mohammad Anwar Khan was injured in the militant attack.
Later, a gunfight broke out after a joint team of forces launched a cordon in the area to trace out the militants hiding in the area.
