After civil lines, Shaher-e-Khaas inundates

Even though weather improved Thursday, after civil lines including the business hub of Lal Chowk, rain waters have inundated old City areas like Nawa Kadal, Kawa Dara, Nallah Mar and Eidgah road.

The old City residents of Gratabal said the rain waters have seeped into lanes and by-lanes putting them to inconvenience. They said for the past three odd days the administration has failed to dewater Shaher-e-Khaas localities. “Nallah Mar is the lifeline of the old City, when this artery remains inundated the plight elsewhere can only be imagined,” the locals said.

Gojwara locals said a leakage in dewatering station pipe has lead to inundation in the area.

Locals said that pipe that runs from Islamia College to Gojwara has damaged at multiple places, resulting in leakage of water that makes locality inundated.

Meanwhile waterlogging continued to irk areas including Regal Chowk, Lal Chowk, Batamaloo, Bemina, Raj Bagh, Jawahar Nagar and Ram Bagh in the civil lines. Residents of Indra Nagar said that the locality is waterlogged for past one week.

Meanwhile, delegations from various other localities including Iram Lane Mehjoor Nagar, Raj Bagh and Bemina urged the authorities to men and machinery to press them for dewatering in these areas.
