CSC suggests slew of measures to expedite recruitment processThe cabinet sub-committee on new recruitment policy Thursday recommended formation of district and state-level recruitment committees to fast-track selection process in government departments.

The panel headed by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh finalized the recommendations to be incorporated in the controversial recruitment policy.
Sources privy to the meeting told Rising Kashmir the sub-committee pushed for strengthening Public Service Commission (PSC) and Service Selection Board (SSB) to expedite the recruitment process in government departments.
“The sub-committee has recommended formation of three member recruitment committee in every district headed by a dedicated member from SSB and experts from relevant fields and department as members,” they said.
Similarly, the panel asked government to choose nine-member selection committee for the Public Service Commission which will expedite the selection process, sources said.
“They have recommended the mandatory posting of five years in a particular area. All the new recruits will have to serve in a particular area of posting on minimum pay scale,” sources said quoting the recommendations.
“While 17000 posts already sent to recruiting agencies like SSB and PSC will be filled as per previous old recruitment policy, almost 15000 identified posts will be filled on fast-track basis as per the new recruitment policy,” a senior official told this newspaper wishing anonymity.
He said selection process would complete in six months as per the recommendations.
Last month, the PDP-BJP government formed a cabinet sub-committee to look into the new recruitment policy and submit its recommendations.
The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had formed the sub-committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister. Finance Minister, Haseeb Drabu, Health Minister Lal Singh, Forest Minister, Bali Bhagat, Education Minister Naeem Akhtar and Law Minister Basharat Bukhari are other members of the committee.
The meeting was attended Commissioner Secretary GAD and Commissioner Secretary Law.
